Remote door opener

I’m having a ramp installed to the front door and wondered whether any of you know of a way to open the wooden door remotely so I don’t have to get off the scooter to open the door and get back on again to drive in.

Thanks

Our house alarm has the option to add on an electronic door opener.

You can also buy just an electronic door opener & electronic lock, all activated by a hand held remote control, just like you use to open a car door.

Search disabled door access or residential automatic door openers for disabled.

Another thing you could try is contacting your local council or Social Services, explain what you need and they can put you in touch with their “Care & Repair” services.

They instal services for disabled & elderly free, including ramps, rails, lighting, door openers, disabled shower rooms ect ect .

That’s a fantastic idea! Imagine never having to leave your car in the rain or cold to open your garage door again. It’s such a game-changer, especially if you live in a place with unpredictable weather.
I was in the same boat not too long ago and did a bit of research. I found this great service in Portland that knows their stuff about garage doors. You might want to check them out. Getting a remote opener was one of the best decisions I made. It’s super convenient, especially when you’ve got your hands full with groceries or if you’re in a hurry. Plus, it’s pretty easy to install, and the folks over at Portland Doors and Locks are helpful if you run into any issues.
