I’m having a ramp installed to the front door and wondered whether any of you know of a way to open the wooden door remotely so I don’t have to get off the scooter to open the door and get back on again to drive in.

Another thing you could try is contacting your local council or Social Services, explain what you need and they can put you in touch with their “Care & Repair” services.
They instal services for disabled & elderly free, including ramps, rails, lighting, door openers, disabled shower rooms ect ect .
