My neuro (in Australia) has recommended commencing Gilenya treatment for mild MS. I’m relocating to the UK early next year and understand that this drug wouldn’t be prescribed to someone in my situation in the UK. My neurologist suggested taking 6 months supply with me and just traveling back to get more, but I’m wondering if there’s anyone else who has been in this situation? Will I still be able to be seen by neurologists and get my regular blood tests and ophthalmologist checks in the UK, despite taking a drug they don’t prescribe me? I’m on a tier 5 working holiday visa. Willing to pay for private treatment if necessary.
Grateful if comments could be limited to the practicalities of the situation rather than opinions on the choice to take this drug.
