Hoping for my MRI date any time soon now. I saw the neurologist a week ago and still have not had a letter - is this normal?
My question is, I had braces when I was 15 or so. When I had them taken out I had fitted a little bar that sits behind my bottom teeth. I guess it’s some sort of stainless steel? The dentist said that I never needed to have it removed (although I can if I want) does anyone know whether this will effect the MRI / cause a problem?
Hi, I had an mri on Saturday after waiting bout 6 weeks from neuro appointment. .she told me I could be waiting between 4 to 8 weeks. At the bottom of my letter it mentioned about metal etc and had a number to ring if any queries about anything so maybe you could give them a ring when you get your letter.
I would let the MRI department know when you get your appointment but don’t worry. I have dental metal work and screws in my spine and apparently as long as they have been in for at least 6 weeks you should be okay. I have had 3 mri’s since my op and have been fine.
I had my fist appt with the neurologist on 7th January and had my MRI today. I was contacted last week by the MRI dept to ask my availability for the scan. I am in Glasgow if that helps
Symptoms are numbness, tingling in my right arm, leg and face. Muscle weakness in the same area plus weakness of my left arm. I find chewing food, speaking certain letters like p and b slightly harder. Any use of my muscles in my forearms and right leg becomes tiring. My writing is less legible now. I have a really odd and hard to describe feeling of dizziness or pressure in my head from time to time. It sort of feels like a ‘pre faint’ feeling like I have low bood pressure…but resolves within 5-10 minutes.
My thinking feels very rusty these days as though my brain cells are wading through a gloopy liquid Hard to learn anything new.
The neurologist said that if I did have MS it was the kind you would choose (if you had to obviously).
Today they said I would have a result within 2 weeks from my GP.
Yes - I have 2 dental implants and they didn’t bat an eyelid about that. During the scan I felt nothing from my implants but I could feel my wedding ring ‘buzzing’ from time to time Lol
Hi again. I have my MRI on Monday. I have been having symptoms on and off for 20+ yrs. I left it so long to find out what was happening to me because of the treatment I had from consultand and one particular Dr. In hindsight I wished I’d been more assertive. There was no support like this yrs ago. So thank you. The ‘episode’ Im going through at the moment has been pretty horrible and have had to take time off work again. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot work full time as it makes things a whole lot worse. But I cannot afford to lose any wages. Are there any benefits that I can claim while working. I dont need physical help but help so that I can reduce my hrs and basically sleep!
