Were there a lot of health checks, vaccinations, screening, etc that you had to do before beginning your DMT?
I notice that Kesimpta seems to require quite a few procedures and health checks before you can begin your treatment, not sure if this is the case with all MS drugs?
Just curious as to whether it’s a generic thing, or specific to some drugs and not others.
Hiya, before I started on kesimpta I had a series of blood tests, I think they collected about 8 samples. I had my flu jab and covid booster at the same time but don’t as it gave me a UTI so was on antibiotics for 10 days as I’m allergic to most of the usual UTI meds but this is something that MS has given me. Once I’d completed the antibiotics I started kesimpta. I think it depends on your hospital, but I was grateful to start treatment to slow this down before it took anything else from me.
I wish you well, if you stick with kesimpta, the loading doses can be hard but trust me it worth it as I feel I can doa bit more than I could for the past 2 years.
