Hi everyone, Haven’t been on here for a while, still no diagnosis but still no change in day to day symptoms. Basically after the birth of my 3rd child in march 2012 I had a reoccurrence of trigeminal neuralgia along with lots of nerve pains, burning patches and itching nerves. When this didn’t disappear I had a round of bloods at drs which were all fine but on developing dizziness, cognitive problems and other strange sensations the gp sent me to neuro. He was very dismissive gave MRI and discharged me. MRI showed some minor lesions but have never had this explained. Symptoms continued but fatigue made an appearance and now affects every day life to the point where I am having to give up work (I am a childminder) as I sometimes don’t feel safe (on my feet) looking after other people’s pride and joys. I have finally had a second opinion with a new neuro who has started to do some tests, VEP and SEP were both normal, I’m back to see him in a weeks time. One continued symptom which is now getting worse is complete paralysis and numbness in my hands (mostly left) when I sleep, even during my daytime sleep. My main reason for boring u all with details today is a new issues I have had for over three months now. I have been suffering from pain in my ribs on one side which is constantly there but gets worse if I don’t rest. It has restricted my twisting motion and is painful to lay on and turn over in bed. After some investigating with a private chiropodist and physio it appears to be coming from my spine, physio has referred me back to gp for investigations. My feet and ankles also stiffen up completely when I rest and are painful to walk. Has anyone else had these symptoms and had any success with a diagnosis? Any help or advise gratefully received as Neuro and gp as both very dismissive Many thanks in advance Rach
Hi G
I had thought about that but this is there all the time, it’s the intercostal muscles inbetween each rib but when certain vertibre in the spine are pushed it sets off the pain in ribs and nerve running to ribs, physio thinking something affecting nerve in spine and causing referred pain.
Am thinking of mentioning to neuro but as I said he is quite dismissive
Many thanks
Rach
