Pregabalin - When and How Much

Afternoon All

I have been advised by my MS Nurse to Give Pregabalin a go after being on a mixture of cocodamol, tramadol and morphine patches for the last few years (She says there may be an improvement in the stiffness in my lower legs and the pins and needles in my hands !!)

I take 150mg in the morning when I get up, but feel the effects kinda drain away come the back end of lunch time !!

I am told I should take twice a day with the inference on Morning and Night, but wondering if anyone uses any other schedule !! - Seeing my neuro next week (Probably to be told, Yes you are getting worse and Yes you will end up in a wheelchair then See You Next Year !! If previous experience is anything to go by )

Nearly the start of a Rant !!

However, as I have to date been self medicating and suggesting possible drugs to my GP, Just wondering if anyone has any further information on the frequency of Pregabalin and merits of taking it throught the day

Many Thanks To All

King Regards

Hello Alan,

I have just started taking Pregabalin and was told to take 25 mg in the morning and 25 mg at night then after a week add 25 mg and carry on adding the dosage weekly to 150 mg twice daily… Apparently the idea is to increase the dosage slowly. I was told to take it twice a day indicating morning and evening. Hope this helps, but remember all neuro’s have different ideas and we are all different. Wishing you luck.

Janet
