Hi. New to this forum and still going through the diagnosis process but thought I would join here and see if anyone has had similar happen to them.
First thing to start this off was a tonic clonic seizure that happened whilst I was asleep. Sent to hospital in an ambulance and referred to a neurologist. EEG came back showing abnormal activity with lowered seizure threshold and standard MRI brain scan showing ‘changes in small brain, big brain and brain stem’ which the consultant said made him suspicious of condition such as MS. Looking back, I have had other symptoms both before the first seizure and since e.g tingling/numbness in arms and legs/hands and feet, dizziness and extreme tiredness. I previously put these things down to dieting and not eating enough carbs etc but now I’m thinking perhaps these things are caused by MS or similar condition.
Now waiting for a repeat brain MRI with contrast, spine MRI and depending on these results, then a lumbar puncture. The last time I saw my consultant he said he ‘had a feeling it wasn’t MS as I looked too well’ but couldn’t really answer my question as to what would have caused these ‘changes’ on my first MRI. So my question really is, has anyone had a first MRI that showed these ‘changes’ in the brain and then the second MRI with contrast, came back clear?
Thank you to anyone who can help.
