Please could members of the forum send some positive thoughts. My poor dog is fighting for his life after some @’ poisoned him. He has been critical for nearly a week now and I don’t know where to turn. I know some will think he is only a dog but he is my life. I visited him at the vets’ and he did not know who I was. The vets are doing everything they can but I feel so helpless.

I’ve always had dogs and so can understand exactly how you feel. I’ve never understood how anybody can deliberately mistreat any animal, let alone a faithful family pet. Was he poisoned deliberately, and do you know who did it? Not that this will help your pet but it could prevent some sick nut doing it to other animals.

Thanks everyone. Today’s update - unchanged. Not eating so if he survives until Monday they will consider whether he is well enough to withstand feeding tube. I just wonder how these people sleep at night, harming defenceless animals, they are the lowest of the low. He has his favourite nurse on duty over the weekend. The vets are all so lovely and caring and put up with me phoning and visiting. Nothing seems too much trouble for them.
