hi, so this is my first time posting on here so please bare with me…
I wondered if anyone has had the same experience as me regarding a pip review… my pip review was due back in feb 2023. anyway i sent it all back adding that i had now been diagnosed with ms. i have multiple things wrong with me as well as ms but that just wasn’t confirmed on my last pip review… anyways i got messages an a letter saying i may need an assessment, this was July time i think. i have now had a letter extending me current pip. which is lower for both. ( i was on middle before that review but i was just so glad i got it so didn’t argue) anyway they have extended it for a year which is great as i was dreading the horrific assessment. But my question is has anyone had this happen to them?
I read they are looking at 1.6 million cases again. also i wonder if i was fortunate to get a higher rate this time around would they back date until feb? kind regards x
From my mums and friends experiences adding conditions on can lead to a new claim having to be made/fresh assessment. People I know have been told not to add them on and just stick to the condition that gives you the award. Of course if you feel that it would increase your award it’s worth the battle. I don’t know whether that was sound advice I just know they like to use any opportunity to stop paying.
I’ve had 2 reviews, the first went really well; the second not so good, although I retained the initial base level PIP I had; I then had a letter stating my PIP had been extended - not going to argue with it, just go with the flow.
