Hi,
I have recently been diagnosed with MS, after a long time in limbo, self imposed if I am honest. But 5 years ago I developed a problem with my eyes called pigment epitheial detachment (PED). Shortly after my diagnosis for MS I had a routine appointment with the opthomologist, he had done some tests a few months ago. I told him about my diagnosis and he said that the current condition is not associated with MS, the same thing the consultant said when I first noticed this problem and mentioned that I had been investigated for MS in 1994.
But, I was wondering if anyone out there has ever had this condition or heard of anyone with MS having this.
I’ve never heard of pigment epithelial detachment being related to MS. The eye condition particularly associated with MS is optic neuritis although people with MS are also more likely to get uveitis.

Thanks Karen, thats what the Doctors said. Just thought it was worth a punt.
Hi, I`m curious…why do say you think your MS is self imposed? i didnt think that was possible.
luv Pollx
Poll,
My MS was not self imposed, being in limbo was self imposed. I first suspected MS in 1994 when I lost all sensation in my leg, mobility was fine but if I stuck a pin in my leg, and I did, I felt nothing. Had an MRI and lumber, no diagnosis and was sent on my way. A year later I went back to my gp with more sensation symptoms and had anoth lumber, no MRI was discussed or offered. Again, no diagnosis. So I thought this was just my lot, strange symptoms but nothing to stop me living my life. Then this year I found I had almost not control over my bladder, when I had to go, I had to go. Being a 46 year old bloke I thought I better get this checked out, links to prostate cancer etc. I have some medical cover so I asked my GP to refer my to a neurologist. This time I had another MRI and got a diagnosis. Its starnge really because he said it is MS, thats the diagnosis, no need to investigate anything else, he was so deffinite. So, my self imposed limbo was because I never went back to my GP after 1995, until this year.
Hope you are well today.
