Physio

Hello.

I have ranted about being caught up in the system where the GPs refer away and you get pestered by the appropriate institutions. After a fall a couple of months ago, one of the very kind para medics who helped pick me up asked if I’d like to be referred to adult social care. I was fast tracked. Now I’m getting bed bars and a riser recliner chair.

Nut I also have a visiting physio. This is Ivana, a young well spoken Slovakian lady. And she understands. This afternoon I was inspired. She wasn’t demanding, she was encouraging. I wasn’t given a list of exercises from a printed sheet. She went through some of the things I could be doing to help my weaker side. Suddenly I’m less negative about my poor left arm It doesn’t have to feel left out. It can help.

Best wishes, Steve

Steve, glad to hear you’re gettting some physio. All i can say is get as much as you can , for as long as you can and do as much as you can. Physio is about the only thing that works for me . I think it kept me out of a wheelchair for about 5 years .

The physio will also pick up any small changes that are happening to your body.

Good luck with it.

Hi Steve

Sounds brilliant, lovely positive vibes coming through from your post.

Onwards and upwards Steve, take care.

My bad physio experience:

My physio will call again Thursday, he had a very blank expression, seemed depressed and was rather snappy.

I will ask my daughter to stay with me when he calls again, as last week I felt intimidated.

It may sound silly - I was going to call and cancel the appointment - but was afraid to do so, because Virgin care have a centralised database all of the Healthcare Professionals log on to, they might black list me or something for being a complainer or something.

Or… I suppose, I could just call and say I feel too unwell and would rather take a break from exercises.

Sounds good, proves that there is a huge variety of therapists out there, pleased to hear you got a good one
