So for just over a year now I’ve been battling permanent numbness in both my hands, it has made everyday living extremely difficult, I can’t even write anymore, out of all the symptoms I have I would say it is the worst, my ms team don’t look at it as if it is a big problem, they don’t seem interested in helping me with it, it’s really holding my life back at the moment as I’m finding it hard to find a job I can do, my question is this normal, as I know numbness is very common in ms, but nearly all cases come and go, but this is different, over the last year there has been no change in the numbness, it’s been exactly the same, I also got briefly checked for carpal tunnel, but my doctor didn’t think it is, I also have very cold hands all the time and pain in both wrists, should I get this investigated further as I seem to be the only ms victim with permanent numbness, cold hands and wrist pain.
Hi I have had permanent numbness in my feet for ten years. No change other than it is getting worse. Numbness is a common problem with MS. I also have weakness in my wrists and ankles. Apart from other problems. Good luck getting some help. Anne xx
Weak/numb hands IS a serious problem. I lost use of my legs many years ago…had weak left hand for 6 months and told neuro about it. He did a carpel tunnel test in EMG…nowt found.
I am a sewer and used to be able to sew for hours…now 1.5hrs is enough.
Dont wanna lose hands as well as legs.
Yes, do bang on about it…it matters!

Mmm, new symptom for me too - in the little finger, ring finger and middle finger - strange sensation - not necessarily numb as they are hypersensitive to cutlery and China!! Sadly it seems, MS can do whatever it likes. I would keep seeing them and going on at them about how seriously this is impacting your daily life - ask for a second opinion. Good luck. X
