I had a visit from Warmfront, but my application made six weeks ago has been overtaken by events and I am no longer eligible for a new boiler. I have no heating because my boiler is naffooo! They devised me to contact the Papworth Trust. I had never heard of them and rang them that was on Tuesday. Yesterday morning a lady visited. She was superb. All I wanted was for her to help get the DWP to hurry up and get me eligible for things like warmfront grants because I am on ESA but not in any grouping. That makes me in eligible. She did the following. Rang the DWP and tried to scurry them along. No success which she had predicted. Told me to reapply for DLA and she will fill in the form for me. She had requested the application form for me and will come round to mine to fill it in. She said there is a specific way to fill it in and I musn’t try it myself. She is applying to the local council to get a grant for a boiler. She said that our local council give these grants. I didn’t know that. She said failing that application Papworth themselves will grant upto £500 towards the cost. If she succeeds with DLA she is then going to try and get Mark on carers allowance. She knew everything and knew how to get through the benefits minefield. I think this might be a valuable thing for you all to know. Pat

Sadly, seems to be a regional thing. Southeast England/East Anglia only. They don’t deal with us down in Gloucestershire.
