Pain in the head

Hi everyone hope your well I’ve started getting a pain in my head tonight it’s not a headache it’s more like a thus sharp pain for a while then it goes. Anyone had this I’m so tired with this cold. Don’t know when it will end it’s making the soreness worse. My legs weaker than normal. X I don’t even know what I’m asking . I think I need bed for a month x

hi fellow ms friend

i no this pain how long have u had ms? is this pain new to u x

hi fellow ms friend, how long have u had ms ? is this pain new to u x

LOL yeah, Its like that cold ice cream sharp pain you get at the back of the head but with me top right of head, Ive also had it right of head just above right ear. Had 2 MRI scans after this and nothing showed up

If you have a cold then white count is higher higher it’s like its a flare of MS simptoms but not any relapse which is what I was told.

Hopefully it will all calm down once cold eases off. Don’t take any echinacea or other immune boosting remedies.

Obviously if you keep getting it over a week to 10 days either shoot your MS nurse a email about it or ask GP

I heard someone on here say that their neuro had described them as “head spasms”, which doesn’t sound possible but is a good label to use to describe them to normals. Take your breath away, don’t they?!

Personally having had “head spasms” for, ooh, 16 years now, my preference is to make sure I’m hydrated and find a convenient person to give me a head massage.

Failing that, I drink plenty of water (warm water suits me best to avoid hiccups) and then, whilst swallowing frequently, rub my own head:

  • starting at the base of the neck & moving upwards

  • then the temples & move upwards

  • then anywhere and move upwards

My theory is that a little light head rub will help to clear the sinuses, which run all around the place, and this seems to ease the “spasms”.

Bed for a month sounds good

Lolli xx

Hi Anon, Sorry to hear you are having pains in your head. I have and still do get sharp pains in my head and strongly urge you to visit your GP so you can get tests done. Explain the pain exactly as it is, making it clear that it is not an ordinary headache. You sound run down with the cold so that could possibly, be the cause of your legs feeling weak, but there again it could be connected with the pains in your head. So get it checked out. Hope you feel better soon. Sending (((((HUGS))))) Janet x
