Now his son Jack has been diagnosed. Just shows you The Lurgy has no boundaries; I really hope Jack’s problem turns out to be a CIS; what a lovely person his mum is.
George - can you tell us what CIS stands for - many pwms on here do not know all the acronyms.
There was someone last week who did not understand dmd’s.
When Sharon was interviewed by Piers Morgan nothing was mentioned about Jack - so it must have been recorded earlier. Wouldn’t it be great if we could get her to join this forum - l am sure she would soon sort out the problems we all have with postcode lotteries/pct / OT’s and all the difficulties we have trying to get help with everyday needs and suitable accomodation.
CIS stands for Clinically Isolated Syndrome e.g. one attack; but you need two lesions separated by time and space for a diagnosis. Time at least 24 hours between attacks; space 2 lesions in different places in your Central Nervous System (CNS) where MS lesions usually appear.
Unfortunately I presume Jack has adheard to this criteria, hence diagnosis.
l was diagnosed 30yrs ago. My GP - was reluctant to tell me the outcome at first - called it lnflammation of the Spinal Cord - He eventually explained it was because so many people have one or two attacks of MS - and never have any more problems. And by telling them that they have MS can cause so much stress that it makes them worse - and can cause more relapses. This l can understand - but l think now the GP’s have to follow a different policy. So what he was hoping it was is the CIS - Clinically lsolated Syndrome.
