Hello all so been back to the GP this morning following the request of my boss :frowning: the doc has signed me of for 6 wks n is making a referral to neuro physio to help with my walking n balance problems :frowning: so as off 23 feb I will have no money coming in apart from my Tax Credits :frowning: not even enough to cover the rent each week a few ppl have told me to apply for DLA ASAP as if its awarded it should be back dated not gonna hold my breath tho n think more practically I will be off to the CAB n council to see how the hell we’re ment bloody survive sorry needed to rant hope every1’s as well as can be :slight_smile: Lou :slight_smile:

Hi, as far as I am aware DLA can only be backdated to the time you actually apply for it so I would suggest applying ASAP too - you could ask about this when you visit CAB as they may have someone there to help with forms etc…

I think the advisor told me that they are backdated to the date you ring and request the forms. I have yet to complete mine but the date I requested them is stamped on the top corner.

Thanx I will ring today n ask for forms to be sent out but I’ve been on CAB site and I’m a lil confused (not really taking much these days lol) and it says u can’t make any new claims "/ cus it’s changing to ESA completely I’m still gonna try tho lol after all if I don’t ask u wont get :slight_smile: Lou :slight_smile: oh Catherine how did ur visit go??? all ok I hope xx

Housing and council tax benefit will contribute more towards your rent and in some cases pay all of it.

Not sure if you have applied but i did and whilst on half pay they paid all my rent. Worse off now i’m

back! Work that one out.

Oh I know where ur coming from Sonia it’s a pain int it to be fair you can sort of understand where the lazy so n so’s are coming from not wanting to work at all when they get it all paid for :frowning: one of the hardest things starting work after benefits they say I put a claim in for HB but at the time I wasn’t actually on sick as it were but back on it now tho n nearing the thin end of the sick pay wedge :frowning: hoping i can actually get back tho b4 it stops completely Lou
