off road scooters

hello all,

anyone have any experience/recommendations of off road mobility scooters eg trampers? Have emailed the company (beamer) about second hand deals but no response. …Rob

l am the very proud owner of a Tramper scooter - l did buy a secondhand one which l loved and about 18months ago traded it in for a brand new one. l have owned various scooters over the last 25yrs - all have been secondhand. On my Tramper l can get all over the fields and woods with my dogs. lts so solid and well built - my previous one was 11yrs old and still going strong. Beamer gave me a decent trade in price - in fact l got back what l had paid for it some 3yrs before. Not many secondhand ones about as people do hang on to them. David Westbrook is there agent - and he comes every year to service mine. You can get in touch by email david.westbrook1@ntlworld.com 01256 460487 - 07771 593786

l have a specially designed trailer for mine - so l can tow it with my car.

Tramper have bought out a new 3wheeled version - as seen on TopGear - it was the one that won the race up through the hills and tracks.

TGA is another make that you might like - they do some descent 3wheelers that like the Tramper have motor-bike type of handlebars. My Tramper is the 4wheeled one - but l have had scooters with 3 big wheels before and have found them really good. With a 3 wheeler the rear wheels do not get stuck in the ruts that the front wheel is in. Do not compare the large 3wheel off roaders to the little 3 wheeled ‘shopper’ type - as they can be very unstable.

l have had two rottweilers and a english bull terrier tied to my Tramper - and it never ‘shifts’.

lf you speak to David Westbrook - mention me - Frances - mss site - lts time l got ‘commission’!!!

[/quote] Floopy,

lt was the new three wheeled Tramper that was the best scooter in the Top Gear Race. Tramper emailed me to let me know about the programme - l was furious that they did not get me to do the road-test - as they know how experienced l am - l could have been the new ‘Stig’. TGA were one of the other scooters. Both makes are excellent.
