Hey everybody, im just looking for opinions really.
I have been on Copaxone (Brabio) 3xweekly injections for around 18 months and just met with Neuro to be told theres new lesions showing on mri after relapsing last year, so he’s putting me forward for Ocrelizamub infusions. Im going for assessment - bloods/xray/etc on Thursday to get ready for the first infusion.
Anyone willing to tell me what to expect, etc and how you got on
Hope everyone is well (as can be!)
Hi, I’ve been on it a year now. I’m terms of treatment days it’s pretty straight forward but a long day as you have to have bloods taken first thing, wait for the results and then get hooked up! You have premeds in the form of paracetamol, antihistamine and steroids and then 30 mins later you’re hooked up. I’m usually washed out for a couple of days afterwards and a night or two of bad sleeping but then go back to normal. Any questions just ask Susie x

Hey Susie, thanks very much for your reply.
I had bloods and a chest Xray last Wednesday, not heard anything yet (QEUH Glasgow neurology for me). I’ve read a couple of people have bad sleep afterwards.
So I guess i’ll be taking my kindle and snacks! Did you drive yourself to and fro for it?
Thanks again,
Alison x
Hi Alison,
I’ve only had my first dose (2x half infusions) but I wouldn’t recommend driving from the appointment. It made me really tired. I took a book but couldn’t concentrate on reading so just listened to podcasts. On my second visit I took biscuits and nice coffee (for myself and to share).
I’m due my second dose in April but so far, no issues. I did have a reaction on my first visit, just a skin reaction, they took me off and gave me antihistamines. The second was fine and went a lot faster.
Hope it goes well!
Donna x

I would read up on the first-time reactions so you can notify your nurse immediately if any of them pop up. Mine were very mild, but I wound up with the skin rashes, itchy face, UTI, and the sensation that my throat was swollen (like a really bad sore throat, not like I couldn’t breathe). They came out of nowhere but all went away in a matter of seconds after they paused the treatment and gave me antihistamines.
