I havent been diagnosed with MS but I was taken into hospital earlier this year with numbness in my limbs and was treated with steroids which didnt help. I had an MRI which showed demilinating plaque on my spine but nothing in the brain. I have seen neurologist since and had another MRI which showed the plaque is slightly smaller and still nothing on brain. The feeling in my hands which I would describe as a tingly numb swelling feeling has since got worse (am taking gabapentin). I had a burning itching in my collar bone and if im late taking the meds that starts to flare up but otherwise that helps with that problem but not my hands. My lumbar puncture came back showing high levels of Oligoclonal bands.
The neurologist says that he isnt disgnosing MS as it could be something else and my brain is clear and Im to go to the MS clinic for them to ‘keep an eye on things’.
My main reason for posting here is for the last 3 days I have had a pain under my ribs (I call it the wishbone area! I know its not but you know the place!) and it feels like a tight sharp pain that goes up into my chest and into the stomach area but mainly stays in the area I mentioned. My doc has given me lanzaprozal as he thinks its the gabapentin although he agrees its strange to react to them after 5 months of taking them! Someone today told me about the ‘MS HUG’ and Im just wondering if anyone else has had the symptoms as ive described. Its like a gripe pain sometimes and seems worse at night. I couldnt eat with it yesterday either?
