Newby with no idea

Hi all…new to site and a little scared…my symptoms started around sept/oct 2016 i think…started experiencing dizziness but only when moving head in certain positions…thought it was a touch of vertigo…had days when felt wiped out by end of working day but thought at 47 body starting to fail on me a bit…i think it improved for a while as stopped whinging to hubby about feeling crap then about 6 weeks ago all started again? Or got worse …not sure…the exhaustion by mid afternoon has been unreal…anyway had a week off work couple weeks ago and decided take opportunity to see a doctor thinking maybe iron deficient or something easily rectified…doctor believed it was positional vertigo and told of exercises can do…however mentioned my mum lost her hearing at my age with similar symptoms and on that basis decided to send me for MRI…ive been fortunate all happened very quick as my sister works in dept and pushed things through panicking cancer 10 yrs ago returned…so MRI last monday and Thursday my doctor calls to say urgent referral being made to neuro as report suggestive of MS…not sure how am feeling about it all as reading through site not sure im ticking the boxes …i have no mobility probs and as im sitting here rested writing this out i feel well so feeling a bit of a fraud (assuming it is MS) seeing what so many of you going through but just have no idea what to expect…if it wasnt for severe fatigue i get i wouldnt say i had any probs as i can cope with spinny head…what can i expect from now on?

hi jasull

don’t think you are a fraud.

i was like you when i was diagnosed in 2008.

i was going through a massive relapse at the time but had no idea what was going on.

i was off work for 12 months and eventually got early retirement for medical reasons.

however i felt really well!

i decided that i needed to see as much life as i could.

so went to greece, bulgaria and spain.

then to festival number six at portmeirion.

that was an amazing festival.

if you get a disabled camping ticket you can take your car in (most cars are not allowed).

there is an inclusion officer who sorts out any problems.

so my advice is to go to these places whilst you still can.
