Newbie with query MS

Hi everyone

I’ve lurked around here for years (see below) and thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Gareth from south Wales.

I had a severe neurological episode in 2018 which went from meningitis to myelitis to “we are not sure”. I had a weakness in my right leg, photophobia, burning sensation in both legs. After several tests under a neurologist everything came back negative and I was discharged. At the time I was convinced it was MS, hence why my lurking began back then.

Fast forward to last autumn I was admitted to A+E with what they thought was a stroke. Negative CT but my LP had increased WBC count. However the conclusion was hemiplegic migraine. I had weakness on my left side, dizziness, I was pretty much out of it.

Then in the past two months I have developed a burning sensation in both legs. This was followed by weakness on my left side and muscle spasms galore in my legs (alongside pins and needles). As such I’ve been referred back to neurology for query MS. I’ll find out soon enough but just wanted to reach out to this brilliant community and say hello. And thank you for the reading material over the years.

Hope to speak to you all soon

Gareth

Thanks for the welcome Pam, hopefully in the next few weeks but we all know what waiting lists are like at the moment (especially in neurology  )
