New to this

I have over the past few years had a few symptoms that fI’ll me with fear. To put this into context my mum has ms and some things that I get seem so reminiscent of her struggle. Then today my husband commented on he way I was walking and and alarms bells rang. Looking at my shoes I am very much walking on the outside of my right foot, on waking in the morning I get what h can only describe has an electrical impulse on the base of my skull when I am lying with my head slightly raised. A few years ago I had B12 defficency but that was trrated and now I have excessive so have stopped all treatmnets. When getting dressed I have to lift my left leg to get trousers or rights on. I have a pelvic mri scan in a couple of weeks as I have been having some bowe problems which may be due to a bad tear I had in my first pregnancy/delivery. I am wondering if I should request a full mri, don’t know if I’d get it though. I also go through phases of extreme fatigue. I am just looking for similarities or is this something i should address?? Thank you for reading, love to you all xx

I imagine if you mention your fears and concerns to your GP and request a referral to a Neurologist he/she would do this. The same with the Neuro, and ask for an mri scan.

Hi pleaseno,

MS is NOT hereditary but there can be a prominence for it to run in some families’; work that one out?

Your MRI is the most important test but if it not requested by a Neurologist I doubt the acumen of the person reading it for MS purposes. There are complaints, not MS; that are hereditary like http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/charcot_marie_tooth/detail_charcot_marie_tooth.htm#102783092

I suggest; unfortunately it will cost £2/300 but go private. You can ask on here for a good Neurologist in your area; or perhaps your mum’s one is? Book to see them private; this will explain some tests mult-sclerosis.org and ask for an urgent MRI of brain and spine; all your CNS. I don’t know but perhaps the waiting time in your area is not too long?

Whatever ask for a copy of your MRI; your right under the freedom of information act. Not that you know what you’re looking at but it will not be lost then for future comparisons.

Good luck

George
