Slipped disc and they will send for a spine consultant to send for me, I got a letter saying that its going to be end of November, lucky I got bupa cover through work, so had a appointment with spine consultant who wanted a MRI on the spine and base of my skull, on the 2nd December 2025, had a follow up appointment with the spine consultant who said sorry he can’t help, since there is Myelin damage in the spine, and need to go to A&E, which I went on the same day, A&E sent me home 16 hours later since they Dont have a neurology department, on Christmas day I had a fall and lost what mobility I had left, my GP asked me to go back to A&E and he spoken to the Hospiral I was amitted, I had another MRI but this time on my Brain, and lumber puncture, after 2 weeks hospital stay, the neruologist confirmed Multiple sclerosis, over the last few weeks and months, been very emotional for me, I now being referred to the MS clinic, which my first appointment is in Feb, and physio sessions a few weeks after, I am glad to get the diagnosis, instead of it being unknown, but been scary for the unknown and will I get my Independence back.

Hi John.

Well ain’t that a kick in the nuts

….. at least it’s moved along quickly and you know what you’re dealing with.

And, now you can begin to adjust to your new normal (I hate that phrase).

Good luck and all the best mate :+1:

Crumbs, John, that’s a shocker. No wonder you’re reeling. Not a great start to 2026 for you, I’m afraid.

I hope that you make a good recovery from the relapse that floored you and that you soon have a treatment plan in place - that’s good for morale in my experience.

Hi John,

That must have been a shock, and it’s a lot to process! I hope you find your neurology appointment helpful next month.

Have you got much support around you?

Sending my best wishes

Alison

Hi Alison

Yep got my parents and sister around me, Thanks

I just glad I got the answer to a medical mystery, since a slipped disc that never got better after 19 weeks didn’t add up.
