New activity

Hi everyone
Since I last posted, I received a pretty urgent MRI of brain and spinal cord. Results came back with unfortunate news. New lesions appeared on brain and spinal cord.
Consultant advised me before MRI scan that I was showing signs of early progressive? But still remained under RRMS diagnosis for now?! They also said to look at new medication instead of copaxone. MRI confirmed their suspicions I guess .
Has anyone else been in my position? How did you feel moving onto a new DMT?
currently waiting on a consultant to see me to discuss the change

For me, the breakthrough activity despite the DMD I was on was like a kick in the teeth. The stronger DMD I was then offered felt like being thrown a life belt in a dangerous sea. And so it has proved to be. I hope that you find the same.

Not sure I fully understand some of your post. The fact that you have new lesions doesnโ€™t make your MS progressive- more like a continuation of Relapsing Remitting. As @alison100 says, the new lesions means you are likely to be given one of the recent and more effective DMTs - which is a good thing

I am just saying what my consultant said that I am showing signs of early progressive. However remain with RRMS diagnosis right now?
The lesions for me are not so good.

Thank you for your response. This journey so far, seems to throw a curve ball every now and then!!

Apologies for my badly worded comment earlier. No , new lesions and new symptoms are definitely not good news for anyone. What I was trying to say was that itโ€™s good that after your new symptoms earlier this year and associated new lesions it looks as if you might be given one if the newer and more effective DMTs.

With a fair wind a new DMT should stop the development of any further lesions and greatly reduce the appearance of new symptoms.
