Hi everyone , how long would you say it typically takes to see a neurologist ? Been referred about 2 months ago - I assume it take many months?
Also, could this at all be a sign of ms sorry for asking ? Ive basically slept for 24 hours. This has happened before . Basically all my limbs and my muscles in my body including my head shake really easily , I have tremors and muscle jerks . I feel completely and utterly out of it can’t think or can’t speak properly . All I want to do it sleep . I also feel really wobbly on my feet .
This has happened for different lengths about 4 times in a year . Is this anything anyone has experienced ?
When I walk now I get a sharp pain In my right leg and I drag my feet a lot and miss my step and feel like I’m wobbling when I’m walking.
It’s the fatigue which is impacting me so much at the moment . I can’t keep up with my house work and my job and with my relationships . Is there any medication that could help this ?
So sorry for all the questions I’m not sure what to do . My partner is going through a lot at the moment and I don’t want to talk to her about these things
So for me this is how it went and where I am up to.
Oct 2020 - appointment with GP re all my symptoms and told them I knew it was MS as my mum had it and my symptoms matched hers. Referred to neurologist.
June 2021 - saw a neurologist. Referred for MRI of head and spine
Nov 2021 - had an MRI of head and spine
Dec 28th 2021 - saw another neurologist who said it was MS and he would refer me to the inflammatory clinic. Given a ‘probably diagnosis’.
Jan 2022 - saw the consultant neurologist at the inflammatory clinic and she decided I needed a LP and an MRI with contrast.
Feb 2022 - had LP
July 2022 - had MRI with contrast
So that’s me so far. I am not holding out having an actual confirmed diagnosis till about Christmas to be honest.
Incidentally, called the GP about random pains I have been having and asked if it could be the MS or something else entirely. She had no clue what I was in about. Nothing on my file re MS, but I have a letter confirming probable MS.
