Hi All Sorry to be posting about this again but I’m a bit confused on what do here?!..got horrible sensations in my fingers that travels up my arm burning, freezing over sensitive, de-sensitised can’t stand anything touching my skin it’s nasty!!..anyway as I said before nurse spoke to neuro and they decided best to try a tapering dose of steroids which I’m not wanting as had them before in a high dose and didn’t see much difference! What I’m confused over is the fact she saying he doesn’t think it’s a relapse but never had anything like it before…it’s my second episode since Aug and I’m on Avonex and also waiting to see neuro for a follow up end of Oct 2013 which they have such a back log of patients I can’t get in…but thinking is the Avonex working?!!.. Also do any of you kind people have any suggestions on what helps with these symptoms? My hand also feels stiff…does if go away or am I stuck with this one?..any advice much appreciated…sorry for the moan Thanks Emma x
Is this sensation constant or does it go away at anypoint such as first thing in the morning?
I had a big relapse (my first one) a year ago, my nerve pain from what I understand is residual… I have two types on my back usually sunburn but occasionallt stinging. The stinging was when I sat back in a chair and was alot more frequent but both I think are resolving. I had brain and spine symptoms during the relapse. I think what might be said here is if its a new symptom, causing you pain and uncomfort then you could try steroids.
I noticed my stinging comes on if I was stressed, tired and wearing too many warm clothes. My stinging used to stop after a good nights sleep.
I had awaful stiffness sometimes in my calfs. I think it might have been muscluar. I give myself a warm or cold sesame oil massge on legs and feet each day, sometimes twice a day and that helps my legs feel looser and much less stiffness. Hope you feel better soonx
I get a lot of neuropathic pain. My MS nurse has suggested Gabapentin so I’m starting that next week. I started Avonex yesterday. I will refuse steroids for relapses unless deemed absolutely necessary as I had horrible side effects last time. Good luck, I really hope this gets sorted for you xxx
