I’m crying with you Blossom. You absolutely did what right but it must have been so difficult to let Ben go but he knew he was very much loved right up to the moment he peacefully fell asleep for the final time. Sending lots of hugs to you Noreen. xxx
Oh Noreen
I’m sending you big hugs. It’s such a difficult experience to have to go through. The main thing that helped me when it was my lovely dog called Honey, was to get another one.
It wasn’t to replace her but to fill the void she left. I ended up getting two litter sisters so they were company for each other.

Noreen,
Like every one else here who has lost a well-loved pet, my heart does go out to you. We have all bawled our eyes out for our pets as some point (a simple cry is just not enough) but then we would never give up the time we had with them.
Lots of hugs for you hun
JBK xx
Thank you JBK. Yes, I will have lot’s of lovely memories.
At the moment though, I can’t close my eyes without seeing his brown eyes looking back at me. I’m asking him to be a good boy for the vet. He’s looking straight back at me so trusting.
Truth is, I wish he’d gone in his sleep because I hated having to make the decision. My husband felt relief for him but I just feel guily.
Sorry!! In a few days I will be just fine.
xx
I’m so sorry for your loss it really is hard when you lose a much loved pet. Thinking of you. Sparkly xx
What can I say Noreen, but a feel for you. I still think of the boy I lost only weeks ago. Believe me you did exactly what any loving caring owner would do for a beloved friend. We would all love to find our friend had died in their basket but it very rarely happens. Lovely Ben was very fortunate in sharing his life with such a caring person, he could not have asked for more and in turn he gave you that unconditional love only a dog can give. Take care, thinking of you.
Thank you Dinks, your words mean a lot. X
Sorry! Thank you sparkly. X
Oh, Noreen, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure Ben knew you were doing what was right for him and he was very glad that you made that decision. It doesn’t make it any easier though. <>
Tracey xx
I know in my heart he did Tracey, thank you. I’m going to toughen up today and go out for a treat

So sorry for you. I’ve got three dogs, two old cavalier king Charles spaniels and a one year old German shepherd. I love them all but have a very special bond with my GS. I know, however, that I’ll be devastated when my oldies leave me…and should anything happen to my baby, I’d be inconsolable. pets are part of the family, and loved as such. You did the right thing for Ben. It was his time and you couldn’t see him suffer. Hold on now to all the lovely memories that you have. Lots of hugs to you and your husband xxx
Hi Blossom,
Sorry to hear about Ben, you made a brave but in my view correct decision-Ben is no longer in pain. I have 2 dogs and dread the day they leave us. My Thoughts are with you.
