OK Computer was one of my little loves when it came out - I was 25. It belonged to my boyfriend at the time and I lifted it when we split up…

Whoa, crazy timing, I you-tubed this on Frday night as I needed to hear it!

Hi Nindancer-Sonia!

Are you a bit of a Rush fan? If so, here’s a Hi-Five. I’m a die-hard Rush fan and have been supporting them since I was a nipper. If I say ‘Rush’ to most people, they tend to look at me with a vacant expression. Absolute travesty in my opinion.

Best wishes

Dearest Hobs

Let’s agree to disagree. Just do not suggest that there is any better drummer than Neil Peart. We may come to blows-lol!

The Killers - Runaways → I love this band and it was their first song I fell in love with. To be honest, it was around the time my MS symptoms started to bother me. When I was in the hospital or later, recovering at home, this song was a great comfort and it still is.

Israel ‘IZ’ - Somewhere Over the Rainbow → I remember it was on air when I logged into my UCAS account and discovered I had got an offer from my first choice uni. Then it was on air when I was on my way to school on my results day when it turned out that I got into that uni and my biggest dream would come true. Usually, I nearly cry when I listen to it.

Duran Duran - Ordinary World → somebody posted a youtube link here, it was when I was having a pretty rough time and the song was so inspirational. Now, every time I struggle I listen to it several times and it helps a lot.

Tracyann - No actually, I don’t even know any other Rush songs BUT I do have good memories relating to that track and something reminded me, not even sure what!

And now I think of it, I really should listen to some more as I think I might like it

Hi Lapreguiceira!

Sir. What an eclectic taste in music you have? Not dissimilar to my own; though, I’m afraid I have to draw the line at Britney Spears.

Loved your Bach and Lotti choices though. 10/10 for Kate Bush too. I have quite a collection of her albums.

Long Lankin is a definite blast from the past for me. I was quite into my electric folk. Funny, but none of my peers were; but then I’ve always been a square peg in a round hole!

Hi Sonia

Spirit of Radio (the only track ever to get extensive air play) featured on the Permanent Waves album. Your homework for the week is to check out the album on Youtube. If you don’t like it, my name’s not Tracyann-lol!

xx

Ha ha I agree, even after his stroke he still out drums most people

Hi AlexL4

Loved your choices and I much prefer his version to Judy Garland’s . Duran Duran’s 'Ordinary World is just a brilliant track. I completely understand why you like it so much.

Hope your MS hasn’t interfered with your uni studies too much. Keep it up!

Oh I was more Farewell to Kings and 2112

This was one of my fav songs after that

My Fav Rainbow song for a bit of balance

Hi Hobs

Farewell to Kings and 2112 are still brilliant albums. Personally, your chosen track, ‘Time Stand Still’ was taken from the Hold Your Fire album. This album was such a diversion from Rush’s proper prog rock sound, I just couldn’t get it, so it remains my ‘bottom of the pile’ album. OK but not brilliant!

I’m old school. Let rock remain rock.

10/10 for your Rainbow choice. I hold my hands up, I have never really listened to Rainbow, but this track was quite good. Good choice!

Tracyannxx

it’s not that bad, I just need to plan everything carefully!

Thanks

Alex xx

Ok I’m bored so I’m spamming MS forum.

So Tracyann did you ever get into Nightwish?

Here is a sample

Hi Hobs!

Whilst I could pass quite easily for the female vocalist (albeit about 15yrs older- I had several nicknames at school and one was Kate Bush!)), I can’t say that I have ever heard of this band.

I’m very ‘old school’. Let’s say, ‘A traditionalist’. I know what I like and I like what I know.

Aside from Rush, I have tended towards 1) Free/ Bad Company, 2) Led Zeppelin. I will never tire of them.

As for Nightwish, the track is quite good, but, to be honest, female rock vocalists don’t really do it for me. That said, I do possess two Heart albums amongst my collection and they were rather good!

Best wishes

Oh really all my fatigue has suddenly vanished lol
