I listen to a wide range of music and some songs I can relate to regarding my MS. I have RRMS for about 15 years. I listen to music on a daily basis whilst working. At the start of my MS I related to the song by Wet Wet Wet ‘I feel it in my finger’, which I did. Tingling, pins and needles. Now I can fully connect with David Bedingfield ‘I gotta get through this’. I’ve always tried being positive with my MS (difficult though, VERY difficult), but listening to this, I suppose it sort of gives me a kick when down. I was wondering does anyone else connect personally with a song relating to their MS.
I love this!!! I am undiagnosed yet but I am a very positive person and feel that music does help keep it. I listen to I gotta feeling that tonight’s gona be a good night a lot when I am feeling down. It always cheers me up and makes me positive again x
Joy Division - love will tear us apart again - “when routine bites hard and ambitions are low, resentment rides high and emotions won’t grow” - bit dark but my all time favourite tune…
I can relate to the Wet Wet Wet song and it’s perhaps the first smile I’ve had on my face reading that in over a week!!
I connected with a song I listened to after reading a comment whilst seeking help and support coming to terms with diagnosis of MS even still after it being over 18months
Rachel Platten - my fight song… although not a mainstream song the lyrics resonates in my head (until recently)
" This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I’m alright song
My power’s turned on
Starting right now I’ll be strong
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me
Losing friends and I’m chasing sleep
Everybody’s worried about me
In too deep
Say I’m in too deep (in too deep)
And it’s been two years I miss my home
But there’s a fire burning in my bones
Still believe
Yeah, I still believe"
hi stef,
the music i like is moanin by ernestine anderson and dont stop the feeling by roy ayers also, happiness is just round the bend by brian auger. i like to listen to music every day too if i can. it can make such a difference to your mood and is good to boogie around to specially recomended roy ayers. even an armchair boogie gets you moving. so that has got to be good.
