Hi sorry to hear this. Life can be so unfair. My father in law died this morning after suffering from Alzheimer’s for about 10 years. Don’t know how to feel as we lost him a long time ago but he seemed to be happy enough in his own little world.

Sending you ((((( Hugs)))) in support to get you through this.

Funny Mags we buried Mum’s sister and best friend on Wednesday - she had vascular dementia and was 85 - horrific disease and relief for her to get away and be at peace - thanks for the kind wishes folks…

So sorry Redman. I feel for you. My mum died of cancer twenty years ago now (a lifelong smoker) and u still miss her. Spend what time you need with her and make sure you let her know how much you love her. Take time for yourself too. You’ll need it. Hugs xx

So much sadness not only here but everywhere and yes it seems unfair.

When my dad was dying he said " nobody told us it would be fair " I always think of that.

I am so sorry for anyone going through sad times and send you my sincere hopes that you find the strength you need to get through.

Funny guys, Mum said to me last night, “you wonder why I had to take this?” and it was heart breaking but none of us know why or the reason for most things - its out of our hands…

so sorry to hear this Redman, and to all the other people effected by this cruel disease. We lost my Aunt in January and we only found out about her diagnosis a week or so before Christmas.

Such a nasty disease, thinking of you and your family

l have seen a dear friend go downhill so badly - also with terminal lung cancer. She will be 70 tomorrow - and this time last year we would have been ‘partying’. She decided to have chemotherapy and now radiotherapy - but the treatment has done so much damage and will not change the outcome. She has smoked all her life - and still does. The Macmillan nurses have started to help now - but it is her husband who we worry about as it has taken a lot out of him. We do what we can - but she is adamant that she does not want anyone visiting her - and seeing her as she is.

All so very sad.

Funny but my Mum always loved callers, now can’t be @rsed with ones calling, as she feels rotten…blasted disease but if its not cancer it would be something else and so glad that she has here wits about her…

I feel for you.
In the '70s, it was my father.
in the '90s it was my son. Started in Los Angeles (he was playing bass in a rock group). They got him stabilised enough to get him home, and he went into the local District Hospital for chemo and radiation therapies for one week in three for the next year.

We got the band’s drummer over, he put a couple of friends together, made a record in a pro studio, and wsa focussed on a trip back to the US almost to the end.

If you can find anything for your mum to focus on - anything at all - go with it, just to help her.

And, feel free to PM me if you want to ask anything.
