Mum diagnosed with terminal lung cancer

Redman - Just like your dear mum -our friend was so gregarious - so full of fun. The chemo has done so much damage - it seems to have robbed her of being able to enjoy any of her ‘old’ self -for what is left of her life. She does not know what time or day it is - and is not eating. She certainly does not have her wits about her - like your mum. So do spend time with her and talk - see if there is anything she would like to do - or places to see before it is too late.

Morning. Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your bad news Redman, and everyone else with losses and potential losses.

Thinking of you all. xx

Louise

Thanks guys - I would love to take Mum out but she seems to want to stay at home or in bed

I feel for you. I recently lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed with it in November last year and passed away at the beginning of April. It is not known as the silent killer for nothing. I hope that they can make your Mum as comfortable as possible. All you can do is be there for her as much as you can.

Mum spent most of the weekend in bed and is a bit confused at times - sad to watch to be honest but she doesn’t have much pain just a sickly feeling - taking one day at a time and thanks again for all the good will messages on here - really does help.

Stephen - l expect your mum has the MacMillan nurses looking after her. Ask them about Nabilone it is prescribed for cancer patients to help stop them feeling sick. lt is a synthetic cannabis type drug. But it does not make you feel ‘out’ of it like morphine.

Google it.

Thanks guys for advice - bit of a nightmare at minute - Mum tends to sleep all day and be up and about at night - I am exhausted…

Mum died on 22nd of July…I was with her, holding her hand…at least she’s at rest…

Oh - bless her Redman.
