MS related. DRUNK?!

I am pretty new to all this - Please can someone tell me if this is normal/ has anyone else felt like this? From about 8pm this evening I was lying next to my daughter reading her a bedtime story I then started to feel anxious/nervous and my heart was beating really fast. I’m shaking like I’m cold but my house is relatively cosy. My hubby just rang me from work and I felt like I really had to concentrate on speaking because it was as if I had drank too many bottles of wine? Slurry!!! I feel like I’m swaying. Even writing this is a task in its self. Thank god for auto text. Should I perhaps call the doc if the symptoms continue? Thank you Sarah

Don’t know how much u know about ms ect hon but anxiety plays a bit part (for me particularly) in ms it’s about learning to control it, if yr worried I imagine it will make you feel that way, Certainly speak to the doc about the flutters /palpitations Good luck x

Thank you Lisa. I appreciate your reply. Sarah

This sounds scary - I hope you’re feeling better now?

If you are, why not speak to your GP ( or MS nurse if you have one) in the morning. If you’re still feeling poorly I’d ring someone now - NHS Direct ( or whatever they are now!) .

I have only JUST been assigned a nurse, but I am awaiting our first meeting (only dx a matter of days) EVERYTHING has happened over the last 12 weeks so I’m still haven’t got my head around the whole thing. Thank you for your advice. It is appreciated. I still feel wonky so I with call nhs24 for a bit of advice. Thanks again. Best wishes

How are you hun? I hope you’ve got the advice you wanted?

Looking back at your posts, it seems you’ve had alot to cope with during recent weeks so don’t hold back from seeking support from the professionals - that’s why they’re there. And it’s very hard when you’re a poorly mummy with a dependant little one!

Love & hugs,

Morning, I seemed to have woke up feeling refreshed. I didn’t wake up once through the night - a first in a very very long time, So that has improved the drunk sensation. I’ll just wait and see how the day pans out. Thanks again for your reply. I appreciate it. Lots of love

Hi Sarah,

I get a drunken feeling fairly often - seems to last for half a day or so and have been told that it is a symtom of MS - if it only lasted an hour or so then Id be quite happy to have it but for 8 - 12 hours of feeling like that is awful, and the only thing that helps is sitting down still with head a rest !!

Hope you dont get it back too often

Andy

Hi Andy. Thank you for commenting. At least we know we are all in this together and can support each other, even if we have wacky symptoms like appearing drunk, minus the alcohol. Take care. Sarah
