Ms & Covid

Hi all,

So what I thought was a flu is now confirmed that I have COVID

I am now on day 7 and have painful sinuses, feel weak, my legs feel very weak - not sure if this is MS related or because of the weakness caused by covid. My sense of smell has completely gone. I’m not taking any DMT’s.

How have others reacted to covid? Have your symptoms come back to normal?

Oh no. I’m sorry to hear you have covid. It sounds like you’re recovering. In terms of MS symptoms, they can be exasperated by a viral illness. But this should improve once you’re recovering from the virus. All the best to you. Let us know how you get on.

I too would like some feedback from anyone with MS who has has covid

ive had corvid. i feel like ive dodged a bullet to be fair. only symptoms ive had is a mild headache, the runs and stomach cramps and loss of taste and smell.

Hello, I’m a new member.

Matt Hancock tells me I can’t go to work, yet the NHS page says that I can.

I have had no change or relapse since my diagnosis 10 years ago.

GP won’t discuss the conflicting documents, HELP.

Good job on the relapse front. 10 years. Great news. Gives hope for others. Stay safe.

Please help I need good advice. NHS say I can go to work, government says no…

John, the default position is that you should be working from home unless you are in a role which makes that impossible. In that case your employer should provide you with a COVID secure workplace. I don’t believe shielding is in place as per first lockdown.

I hope you get well soon. Most people with MS find that symptoms increase with raised temperature, so some at least of your heightened MS-like symptoms may be due to that. With luck, that should settle when your temperature returns to normal. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself plenty of rest and time to recover fully.
