Hi…can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes to get mri results. I don’t have a follow up appt as yet with the neuro but wondering if it will be weeks or months. Thanks
Hello i am no expert here but I had to wait 4 weeks for my results and when the letter arrived i also received the follow up appt letter the same day. I had my scan in October and am having my next neuro appt on Friday! I think it can vary depending on where you live. Hope this helps Lainey
The pictures themselves are available immediately. So it’s just however long it takes for someone to review them, decide what the clinical significance is (if any), and have it typed up.
It could well be that the typing is the biggest bottleneck in the whole process, because the pictures don’t have to be sent away for developing or anything.
The neuro appointment might be a different matter, however. Just because he has your results doesn’t guarantee he has a forthcoming slot to discuss them. As Lainey suggests, could depend on current waiting lists in your area.
