medical matijuana?!?!

So time and time again I have seen marijuana may relieve people of certain symptoms … im no expert just curious to learn your experiences with ms and marijuana…

Fact is, Marijuana is illegal, whether for noble purposes or not !!

It’s therefore most unlikely that anyone with first-hand experience of this drug will be prepared to post comments on a public forum like this.

We’ll see, though ?!!

I find in a ms relapse a joint really helps ill feel like death and after a joint my symtoms improve alot and i dont feel like death anymore im not bothered if people dont like this comment im not harming anyone other than myself by smoking cannabis

Thank you for the positive response… I myself do have a cheeky joint when im not feeling so good and it not only helps ease the pain but lifts my mood to

Hahaha ok apologies for the spelling mistakes using my phone to post as my laptop is down :frowning: just putting it out there before someone gets smart n blames mariujana for my bad spelling. Lol.

cannabis induced paranoia?

Marihuana may be illegal but Sativex; the medical derivative is not. See http://www.gwpharm.com/Sativex.aspx

Hi, are you not concerned about the possible long term use of cannabis leading to mental problems? Or am I misled by the doctors who say this can and does happen?

Sticking my neck out here and don`t wanna start a row!

Ive smoked it for 10 years dont think stopping would make alot of difference now x

Fair enough hun!

I can’t see me going down the pot road. But sometimes I think the combination of drugs we put into our bodies on a daily basis can’t be good for us. I would like to try sativex but neuro not keen. I’m having a bad day x

Yeah, I’m pro Sativex/legal medicines as I could not do my job if I had a spliff before work!

I’ve not smoked cannabis since our last trip to Amsterdam and I won’t try it now…it might help with MS symptoms BUT I know full well that I would not be fit for work. Considering I’m self-employed and have managed to secure a contract, despite MS, I would not want to put that in jeopardy!

Ive smoked it so long i dont get stoned cant remember the last time i was me and my partner share about 5 joints a day its just satisfying and puts me in ahappy mood and its a bonus it helps with ms symptoms no matter how ill or tired or stressed i am it changes everything

I smoke it, every evening before I go to bed. Been doing this for years and I sure know about it when I don’t. It is great for me, but it isn’t for everyone (much like prescription drugs). The only thing I hate about it, is the fact it is illegal, which makes me a criminal. X

I know many people here in the states and in Canada who swear by it for the relief of MS related symptoms. I even know a few folks who are trying the synthetic cannabinoids with similar positive results…and I believe at least one of those is available legally in the UK.

Yes, I have a prescription for Nabilone to collect but I need to arrange fo a test and I can pick it up. It’s a synthetic cannabinoid like you’ve mentioned.

I’m being tried on it as I have spasticity and have reacted badly to baclofen, tizanidine and dantrium. I asked about Sativex (real cannabinoid) and was told that my spasms aren’t that bad just yet but the Nabilone might be worth a try now - it’s licenced for nausea, not MS - I wasn’t even aware of man-made ones til it was suggested to me.

I actually wanted to try Sativex in the first place, just because it didn’t have the kind of side effects that the meds I’d been given had. The muscle weakness terrified me, it felt like a massive shove towards losing my mobility! Crossing my fingers that this might be the right course now.

Best of luck to you Sonia. I truly hope that it is of some benefit.
