major winge. sorry

Hi, just wanting to sound off to someone. I’m at work today in a shop. Its a bank holiday which I normally work a short day on bank holidays. Instead I had a call from my boss to get in and work a normal days hours. I had christmas Day and boxing day off. I work 3 1/2 days a week. I’ve had 6 1/2 days off this year. 2 1/2 of those days were when I was in hospital. I had a day off to see the specialist and had to make up that time off. Questioned my boss today on my holiday entitlement and bank holidays and I’m sure he is trying to push me into leaving. He said I didn’t owe him anything, if I’m unhappy…(He never said I could just leave, but the implication was there) He then went on to say that things are hard for me , he understands if I can’t cope. Help

Your boss is utterly in the wrong. He DOES owe you something. Please go and talk to the CAB or to an employment lawyer or whoever you can get to see locally - there are legal requirements that an employer has to meet which cover holiday entitlement, sickness, etc. I don’t know the details, but your boss sounds like he is taking advantage, big time :frowning:

Tbh, do you really want to work for him anyway? Why not try and get a new job and, when you do, take great pleasure in walking out!
