Magnesium - which one?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone could please give me a recommendation for which type of Magnesium to use along with a “good” dosage?

I purchased some Magnesium Malate tablets recently after doing some research online (which I can no longer find!), but have since discovered this may not be the best form for MS related issues.

I’ve heard about Magnesium Citrate (recommended to me by someone yesterday) and Magnesium Theronate, but I’m just so confused.

At present I’m taking Gabapentin for restless leg syndrome which seems to be quite effective, and I understand that Magnesium, especially the spray, can also help with that. However, I feel that the Gabapentin is successfully helping with the legs, so I’d like to take Magnesium for its other benefits. I have very cramped legs, especially since I’ve started to work from home due to lockdown, so hopefully Magnesium, along with exercise of course, can help with that.

Any help or recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jon

Hi Jon

I used to have cramp in my legs and was recommended to take magnesium by my private physio.

Bought and took them for 12 months, no difference.

Stop taking al those over the counter stuff, waste of my, well earned cash for miracle cures.

Do not get cramps now, do not know why, if you eat a well balanced diet you will get magnesium, iron, vitamins and all the other stuff.

Just buy vitamin D3 now

I take a combination of citrate and malate, both of which are highly absorbable. You might need to experiment with the amount a bit to find a dose that suits you, but I find 200mg does the job.
