LOW DOSE NALTRAXONE - seeking a prescriber in London

Hello, I live in London. My GP won’t prescribe me LDN because the health authority in Hackney don’t agree to its use for MS. Before I arrange a prescription from a random faceless dr over the internet, I thought I’d ask if anyone here can recommend a DR who will prescribe it. Thanks Sue (SPMS - no treatment offered by neurologist lol)

Sue Contact dicksons chemist in Glasgow tel 0141 404 6545 or email homedeliverypharmacy@yahoo.co.uk they have a list of doctors in the uk and they are the main prescribers in the uk. I’ve had my LDN from them for four years. I use emed to get my private prescription yes they are a faceless doctor over the Internet but I’ve also had my prescriptions from them for four years and not had one bit of trouble, they are very quick and efficient, if you need any info on how to do let me know. Jue

Sorry sue just realised I made a mistake above its the LDN research trust that has the list of doctors, dicksons have their own doctors attached to them although I think you can still do phone consultations with their doctors. But Linda elsgood at the LDN research trust will sort you out. It’s a bit early in the morning that’s why I was getting it mixed up!

So if u get a private prescription would it show on your doctors notes? Would ur own doctor who won’t prescribe it know? X

I don’t think it would be on your notes as such unless you tell then, my GP and neuro know I’m on it, it isn’t illegal it’s just an off label drug. Some GP 's and neuro will prescribe it it just depends how open minded they are unfortunately mine are not!

I get my LDN from Dickson’s chemists in Glasgow - my neuro does me a 6 month private script for it.

Yes I get mine from dicksons redman but my neuro won’t prescribe it, you’re one of the lucky ones!

Thanks for the responses. Jue, I contacted Dicksons, LDN Trust and Linda, had few leads but they all said no. I just wondered how other people do it before I go to Emed. Ideally I wanted a dr to look after my health lol. I reckon I’m on my own - no dr. I’m following OMS religiously. And I’m wearing a bio flow magnetic bracelet which I swear is helping me. My neuro laughed and said ‘I should give you a placebo’. I said, ‘it’s true I can’t prove these things will work, but you can’t prove they don’t work. Given the choice of your zero help, or my taking a punt and trying some harmless treatments, I’ll take the harmless treatments thanks.’ I might be on the road to hell, but through OMS I’ve lost a stone in 2 months and I’m looking hot lol.

love ur reply above! i wore copper bracelet for months-if can help with arthritic pain why not ms was my question. i wore it all the time the reduced to every 2nd day then 6 hrs each 2nd day then no bracelet. during that time i reduced and stopped my amytriptyline for nerve pain (with gp knowledge) dunno these things til u try! and no side effects from the meds-bonus!

i have lost 5 stone-my butt looks better in size 12 than 22!

i have taken ldn via emed route for 9 years. tysabri for 8 months-no change but no new relapases. i hear of brill things-i am patient-just as well!

Sue You say you contacted dicksons, LDN trust and Linda and they all said no? I don’t understand, I’m sure Linda has a list of gp’s that prescribe LDN. As for having a dr to look after your health good luck with that ha! Seriously though as far as ms goes you do seem to have to do a lot for yourself, research, give things a go anything is worth a try even copper bracelets. What is OMS I’m intrigued! Like you’re attitude btw we need a sense of humour that’s for sure! Jue

Jue, I was a lazy typer - sorry. I meant that the leads I got from Dicksons, ( 2 London professors) LDN trust, and Linda (led me to Crystal and a handful of GP’s) all said no to me. My own Gps say no. I know I can get it via Emed and I reckon I’ll go that way in the end. OMS is Jelineks Overcoming MS regime. V little fat. No dairy. I can’t tell if I’m taking this dx too lightly or too seriously. I can walk a few streets but struggle to walk back. Foot drop. Dizzy. Pretty tired. But if I hadn’t got the dx I’d still be thinking I was just a moaner with a bad leg. Last time I fell a guy helped me up and I said ’ …and I was just thinking I hadn’t fallen over in ages’ Got to learn when to be circumspect. He looked a little scared and made a quick exit. Ahh, life

Hey Ellie, Thanks for your lovely message. I bet you look grrreat" I reckon our bracelets do some good. Can anyone prove they don’t! Sue
