I have returned yesterday from a few days at the seaside, it was fantastic, the weather was good, food was lovely, and hubby and me both had a lovely restful time.
I know I have mentioned it before, but it was great just going down the prom, watching the sea coming in, the noise of the waves, I so love the seaside, my poor wheelchair was certainly put through its paces!
One thing I did notice, the size of the seagulls, they were huge, I suppose it’s only to be expected seeing how much food they are given, they are so greedy though.
Yes, the seaside is such a wonderful place. I’ve just had a break myself. Now I’m finally sitting on my sofa drinking my tea. I love going away but I love coming home. Once at Aldeburgh, I was watching the sea and the massive sky when a huge seagull down loaded its recycled fish and chips on me. Not such a massive sky!
Believe it or not we get seagulls in London. They come up the Thames when it’s stormy at sea. Yes they are HUGE! When I can hear them I close my eyes and imagine being by the sea. (A lot easier than actually going…lol).
Yes, I am feeling the after effects now, it’s not like we do a lot when we are by the sea, but I find the travelling wipes me out now, when years ago I could travel without any problem.
Mind you the M5 is enough to wipe anyone out, some of the driving is atrocious.
I think deep down most people love the seaside, I wonder if it is that it rekindles old memories of being a child and your first sighting of the sea.
Never thought of London having seagulls, the picture in my mind of London when we last visited (many moons ago) was of loads of pigeons at Trafalgar Square all flying around us! My other thought was its so busy, how do people manage to live here, so many people and loads of traffic! Makes me sound a right country bumpkin lol
They were huge, I didn’t mind them as long as they kept their distance, don’t really like it when birds fly around me, you never know what their next move is going to be lol
Hi Pam, so glad you had a lovely holiday. You can practically see the sea from our house but I’m hardly ever there, lol!
Had great intentions of going along the prom for walks when I got my own wheelie but it’s never materialised. To be fair our North East Scotland wind can be a bit of a put off. We also have huge cheeky seagulls that will do anything to pinch your chips, ice cream or sandwiches.
Hi Pam, most of the pigeons are gone from Trafalgar Square…a hawk or some hunting bird was brought in.
You sort of get used to it being busy…although I must admit in summer with the windows wide open the traffic does drive me nuts at night. Just as I’m getting off to sleep a motorbike or a police siren will go by! Not so bad in winter with windows closed!
I do sometimes yearn for the countryside though but circumstances keep me in the city…and if I was in the country I’d probably be yearning for the city! I’m a city bumpkin!
I completely understand that but admit we were having hysterics watching it attack Paul
That was a meet thu a forum too, so it’s a great memory. A few of us had a small get together for drinks in London then lots of us met up at gigs (it was a band’s fan club) - so it wasn’t too funny that a bunch of us met up in Bristol for a weekend when there was no concert I miss that kind of independence but as my Mum points out, I’ve done a lot of things
