Medway is my local council and they should be named and shamed.
This is from their response to my appeal for their refusal to help me as a disabled person with parking my mobility car. They were aware that I had PPMS and awarded enhanced rates of PIP for both daily living and mobility.
“However, these issues affect many residents and unfortunately we are not able to approve the application”
No understanding of how the disabled residents differ from fully abled residents
Did you apply to them for a disabled parking bay? I ask because I don’t think they can refuse you a blue badge, however a disabled parking bay can be used by anyone with a blue badge so they might think it wouldn’t be helpful to you specifically. Please give us a bit more information, then we can express our thoughts.
i had a similar experience with my council regarding rehousing as I’m stuck in the middle of a tower block and was compared to someone with young children but I pointed out that young children generally don’t stay young children but MS will always be MS.
Surely that must be a communication error ??
