I want to apply for a concessionary bus pass but I don’t fall into any of the categories. I have seen on here that a similar issue occurs with the disabled person’s railcard which has been overcome. Has anyone had any experience with applying for a bus pass? I have emailed them to ask but no reply as yet.
Morning Gail, do you have a blue badge, you used to be able to get a concessionary bus pass if you had one?
I don’t but I think I could get one so maybe that’s the way to go. Thanks for the advice
Hi Gail, I have copied the link which lists who can get a blue badge. I originally applied on long term chronic health as describe under Disability act. When it came to renewing recently I had to complete a form, answer various questions and provide supporting evidence.

Thank you I will look into it.
Hi Gail
Search disabled bus pass on Google and select your local authority. If it’s like mine you have to fill out a form and return it to them. You should be able to see a list of criteria on their website but Rogue is correct a blue badge would really help you get the pass.

As Purplebubbles has said each local authority has its own sets rules.
For my area I got the pass by getting my GP to fill in a form that I would be unable/fail to get a driving licence via my mental state caused by the MS.
I don’t think having MS automatically entitles you to it but the symptoms is causes in some authorities it does.
Thank you. Yes I have just contacted DVLA and they have to write to my doctor so hopefully if I don’t get one I’ll get the other. I’m not driving at the moment so I’d prefer the concessionary bus pass but what will be will be. Thanks for the info.
