Lingering viral infection

Evening

I’m so under the weather at the moment. I’ve had what is probably a viral type illnesses since the middle of December and it’s taking its toll.

I’ve had mild sinus pain and a blocked ear on and off since before Christmas. My throat has started to get achy again and I’ve got mild aches and pains so looks likes it’s ramping up again. I usually get over things quite quickly but this has knocked me.

I’m worried that it’s going to cause a relapse. The front of one of my thighs has sensory issues at the moment. I had ON in my eye a few years ago and my eye can be blurry at times, no pain though.

Is it worth a GP trip do you think? I went a few weeks ago and she gave me antibiotics that I don’t think I needed. They did nothing anyway.

Any tips or advice very gratefully received.

Thanks!

I’m just struggling back to the surface again after weeks of viral and then a bacterial chest infection, so I sympathise. I don’t know whether you need to see the doctor or not. All I’m doing is trying to rest when I can, exercise when I can, eat a lot, sleep a lot, just try to regain the lost ground and hope for the best on the MS front.

Have you tried a Neti Pot? I use mine regularly and it does help keep the sinuses clear.

Also, I would advise replacing your toothbrush and/or cleaning it in boiling water between uses) as it can harbour virus/bacteria and re-infect.
