Life insurance and critical illness cover

Hi

I am currently buying a house for the first time and going through all the insurance bits.

Just wondered how pople got on with getting life insurance? Is it even worth trying to find critical illness cover?

All advice/experiences greatly received

Thanks

I don’t think you should have a problem with life insurance however I would doubt your MS would be covered under critical illness as its a pre existing condition.

I have no real reason to do so… But my sister got Life insurance and they charged her loads because I had MS :frowning:

So be sure to find the best one for you so they don’t rip you off x

I can’t get Life Insurance for love nor money :frowning: Hope you have some sucess xx

You probably won’t get critical illness cover that isn’t so expensive and so hedged about with exclusions that it is a waste of your money. Just as you need to take out buildings insurance BEFORE your house is burning down, you need to take out critical illness cover BEFORE you have a qualifying condition. I can still remember the financial advisor’s face when I timidly enquired about critical illness cover post-dx!

I have life insurance, taken out after my MS dx so it is available. I recently did a search to try and find a cheaper option but my dx of SP was a stumbling block (I wasn’t SP when I took out my current policy)

Life insurance is available but the premiums are stacked. As for critical illness – I’ve never tried but I suspect it would not be available without a million exclusions.

They agreed to give me life insurance so I think I will just take that Thanks for all your advice Elene
