Has anyone been given botox injections in leg muscles to ease spasms …by a MS specialist
Hi!
Botulinum toxin is one of the recognised treatment options for patients experiencing ‘Secondary Dystonia’ ie. involuntary movements/ spasticity and muscle spasms. It is a very effective treatment and its effects last about 3 months.
Personally, I haven’t needed it because Tizanidine has worked well enough for me. Baclofen is another medication offered to MS patients, but unfortunately, it had no effect on me.
Good luck. Hope it works well for you.
