LDN—fad or fraud

Is LDN a fad or fraud?

I look forward to hearing from you.

My GP has prescribed ldn on the NHS for over twenty years and quite convinced it has slowed down progression of PPMS.
Not to be confused with a DMT though, as they act in different ways.

Thank you whammel for responding. So do have any periodic checks eg liver function? Did you have anyside effects?

No need for periodic checks on liver function, or anything else for that matter. The FDA have approved Naltrexone in the treatment of addiction, but the amounts involved are significantly higher and checks might well be necessary for much larger doses. The ldn research trust has medical advisors and sure they would be happy to give confirmation.
The only side effects I had were some weird dreams in the first couple of days, and a modest improvement to most symptoms.

Thanks whammel.

Just found this on liver function.

When we should be worrying about LFTs (liver function tests) with LDN?

“So we have only ever referred anyone for an LFTs when they’re in end-stage liver failure. Other than that, because of the doses, it’s really irrelevant to most people. There really isn’t a concern unless you’re in end-stage liver failure.”
