Jaw ache and tension

Amongst the myriad of odd pains and tingles, I have a new main stay that gets worse the more fatigued I am.
This ‘symptom’ is an ache in my jaw and tension like I’ve been chewing a rather large jaw stopper and gum for several hours. This is often accompanied with a general numbness to the bottoms jaw.

Along with my constant tennis elbow, tingling hands and spasticity, it is now constant but to varying degrees.

Does this resonate with anyone?

It sounds a bit like Trigeminal neuralgia. I’ve had it since diagnosis but mine is getting progressively worse, I have a constant pain in one side of my face that’s been numb and has a feeling of being pulled down. It tends to feel cold all the time, so far I’ve not found anything that helps it. Does it affect your mouth as well? Have you been checked out with a dentist as an issue with your teeth could cause facial numbness.

I did think about this but it doesn’t seem to fit the normal outline for it.
Does it tend to get worse for you the more you do in a day?

Tbh I have pain and discomfort 24/7 for the past 18/19 months. It tends to be worse with chewing, changes in temperature too hot or too cold , a slight breeze when this happens I get the stabbing pains in my forehead, eye, cheek and jawline and recently in my ear..

 it’s not the best fun ever is it?!
I thought it might be down to tensing my jaw during the day but I haven’t noticed me tensing at all.
I’m going to mention it to the MS nurse next time I see her but feel she may just up my amytriptyline again :man_facepalming:

If it is Trigeminal neuralgia, the preferred treatment is carbamazepine, alas I’m allergic to it! But I’m wait for an appointment to the pain clinic. Gabapentin, pregablin can sometimes help with this type of pain. Hope things soon settle down for you.

Thanks :+1:
