I dont know if its a symptom but I also get it, it drives me insane last week I scratched my head until it bled
Pruritus (severe itching) can come on very quickly and go just as quickly with MS. Paroxysmal symptoms those that come on suddenly, bother us for a short time (seconds or minutes) and then disappear as suddenly as they came.
They can come in many forms.
Pruritus
Diplopia
Ataxia
Dysarthria
Pain
Weakness
Dystonia
I sometimes get the odd thing like creepy crawlies in the face and then it just goes lol, pins and needles somewhere odd, then it just goes…on and on…too many to mention lol.
I have had the itchy scalp it was almost a headache. I hate that when it comes on.
Thank goodness they go as quick as they come. xxx
Hi Yes I suffer from an itchy scalp all the time. I tried all sorts of eczema related shampoos (which I still use) but they do not seem to help a jot. Think it is a known symptom of MS. Teresa xx
Yes, I get that too moggie. I kept asking my family to check me for nits! I also get the ‘crawlies’ and used to keep checking the bed for fleas/ants/bugs as it really does feel like there is something crawling over my skin. Don’t get itchy feet but I do get a weird ‘buzzing’ in my left foot (like I’m standing on my mobile when it’s set to vibrate) and sometimes my side (used to keep checking my bag because I thought someone was calling me on my!).
Not been diagnosed yet but it’s certainly a symptom for me.

It’s the tip of my nose that does it. Drives me nuts! Once caused a bruise, I’d rubbed it so much

Hi Mo
Yes, I’ve had the itchy scalp in the past, + also the palms of my hands and soles of my feet.
The feet was the worst I think. I had a period of about 6 weeks when I had to put my feet in a bowl of really cold water every night (and sometimes during the night) in order to calm the itching down & get some sleep!
Thankfully it was 6 wks and not 6 months!
Hope yours calms down soon

Have you tried Sedigel Scalp Moisturising Gel (www.sedigel.com)?
Yep, me too! The itching is horrid: scalp, spot in middle of back, shoulder blades and forearms - and far worse at this time of year stuffy indoors with central heating on. Only this morning I was thinking I should get the nit comb out to be sure
I’ve also got the horrid creepy, waxy skin feeling back again this last week and hoping in all hope it’s not a precursor for worse!

Hello I have suffered with itch scalp before, sometimes feels like I have things crawling in my hair, I have short hear and nothings there, I also get buzzing in the feet, and the latests is a feeling like I have something crawling inside one ear
sounds to me to be a neurological thing but hey ho I’m no expert
All the best

I have had it on and off for about 15 years but its normally the tops of my arms…but I was also wondering if I had nits so its reassuring that its not! Still no dx xx
Yes x I call them my invisible fleas - I squirm around flinging blankets off and staring at the spot that feels like it’s being bitten but there is nothing there - I have even ripped my boots and socks off in public - convinced there are bugs biting me!!
I realised recently that these are actually pins & needles - just not the ‘normal’ feeling pins & needles you get when we have laid on our arms/legs etc for a while xxx
As for the scalp I have had first off a sensation of cold water running UP my scalp - then this soon turns to numbness - then after a while it turns into a really painful patch to touch xx
all nutty stuff eh!! xxx
hi I quite often go to check my hair too lol thinking I’ve got visitors but never find anything ;)! thought it was just because I always have my hair tied up I get incredibly itchy feet and arms but again I just put it down to dry skin ( doesn’t seem to matter how much moisturiser I use they never get any better ) I’m not dx yet still waiting for my neuro app to come thro Lou
I also get itchy head and worse is my ear…in the ear canal…gets so itchy could pull it off lol…had ears checked by gp and all appears normal…but understand the worry about visitors when head is itching lol Kate Xx
I get the itchy ear thing as well but they put it down to just poss having ezacma in the ear canal so interesting u mention it to Kate Lou x
Kate and lou join the club about itchy ears, I had my gp look at my ear as it felt like I had a spider inside, no visitor
didn’t mention exczema he did prescribe ear spray with a channeled nozzle called OTOMIZE seems to work for
a while and then my spider comes back, head as itchy as hell today, I used to put it down to tiredness, however
it happens any time of the day now
all the best Andy
Well nice to know am not alone. I get itchy ears and my scalp…like already mentioned by others it is an uncontrolable itch and have seen gp, tried many creams lotions and potions to no avail…funny how we all got the same prob lol Kate
