Is this the heat?

Hi all It’s been so hot today here and my house is still hot (it’s gong midnight). I get neuropathic pain in the soles of my feet, like they are on fire. Tonight weirdly it’s in just one foot and it is agony, like crazy pain. I don’t think it’s ever been this bad. Google use some sleep but it’s keeping me awake. I’m wondering if this is just is a heat response? Any thought? Thanks Badger x

The heat make my MS much, much worse…can I add another much because it is so much worse

I also have Raynaulds (my GP diagnosed after one look at a photo I showed her). My feet, mainly the right, swell and burn unbearably when they get too warm.

I don’t think your problem is the same as mine just don’t assume everything is MS it might not be.

Roll on Autumn.

Been diagnosed 7 years, the heat never affected my MS until 2 years ago, now though even the very slightest warm or muggy day and my MS symptoms are far far worse, plus on the opposite end, if its a chilly cold day my spasticity is worse.

Its like as if my body thermostat has gone hyper sensitive ?

I did read that around 70% of people with MS get sensitive to a rise in temperature that makes their MS symptoms worse, and a small % of those are effected with both a rise & fall in temperature.

Apparently as little as 0.5 degrees F alteration in body temp can make a difference.

Its called the Uhtoff’s Phenonemom.

Hi, heat and cold effect me, too much of either and it makes my symptoms worse, can’t win, as for burning, jeez mines been awful, my feet, legs, face, I wear cold pads in bed in areas where they will sit, like on my knees, between my legs, get awful burning there and I lay my feet on them, I did used to wear a pair of socks and stuff cold pads in, then I ended up with chill blains, (can’t spell) so had to stop that, this condition is crazy 1, good luck and try to keep cool, oh I also invested in a tower oscillating fan, good luck.

I’m usually cold when I crawl in bed, but then my feet get incredibly hot and twitchy. I’m lucky enough to sleep alone, so I keep a pedestal fan at the foot of the bed and turn it on before I crawl in. Once my feet warm up, I stick them out from under the covers and let the fan blow directly on them. When my feet or legs get too twitchy (and I know this sounds weird), sometimes I just turn myself and sleep with my head at the foot of the bed. When you’re desperate, you’ll try almost anything for relief!
