I have suffered from burning feet for a couple of years now. This and lots of other sensory symptoms. All day today my left hand has been burning. I have never had this before and was wondering if it is a sign of a relapse. The only reason I ask is because I am seeing my neuro next week and wonder if I should tell him. I am worried about telling him things that are not nessesary as the last time I saw him he made me feel crazy saying that “my mood” is making my symptoms worse. Thanks in advance, Lindsay
Morning Lindsay, no matter if this is a sign of a relapse or not I would tell him, he needs to know everything that’s going on, and forgive me, but sod what he thinks about you’re mood, some specalists make me really cross when they put things down to this, as if we don’t have enough to cope with, I don’t mean this to sound like I’m blowing my own trumpet, but the last time my neuro started saying things to me about some of my symptoms I let him have both barrels, he ended up saying sorry, you’re the one going through it not him, oh and by the way, I too get these symptoms, so I really feel for you, take care, Jean x x
Hi Lindsay,
I have the opposite - freezing cold feet and hands. However sometimes one hand can be hot and one cold, strange feeling.
I put it down to MS - tell your neuro.
good luck , Jen x
Hi Lindsay
I get burning feet when I wake up every morning.I usually stick them under a cold shower, or rub Deep Freeze on them (you can get it from the supermarket), which helps take the edge off. I’d tell your neuro though - there’s no harm.

I too have these symptoms and neuro can make you feel silly. I read a letter they sent to my GP saying I was anxious!! How dare they, when its us that are going through this everyday.

Hey Lindsay
Some of my most major symptoms are burning hands and feet… really horribly painful too! My neuro was definitely interested in this symptom as it makes walking hard and even picking up things can be difficult. Im not dx but have seen my neuro 3 times so far - clear MRI of brain and spine, but still Im off work as I am in alot of pain with these and other symptoms. I also have Optic Neuritis in my right eye now, and have previously (this year) had it in right and left eye ![]()
Hope you get on ok
Paula xx
Thanks for your replies. I am seeing my neuro tomorrow and still have not decided if I will tell him or not. The last time I saw him he had me in tears so dont want to feel like that again. I am meeting with my MS nurse first so will see what she says. Lindsay x
