Is anyone else finding that large numbers of speedicaths are faulty?

Hi, for months I have been having major problems with my speedicaths size 10 catheters. At first they did not lock into place when opened and would only do so if I sterilised my hands and pulled them into position. More recently a proportion have completely failed and can not even fe pulled into position. The inner catheter portion will not lock into position at all simply falling back into the green casing. I have had up to a 10% failure rate and as each catheter costs the NHS over £1.50 is a massive cost to the NHS and my doctors surgery. I have contacted Charter Healthcare about this 3 times but they are not saying that anyone else is having the same problems. If it is happening to you could you report it to,them as well as such a massive failure rate in a product that is so widely used should be a priority.

I just had 1 fail today its done just what you said has happened with you its happened once or twice but that’s been over a few years I never thought anything of it but if it happens more often I will get in contact with them. Mark.

Hi Ali - it is Ali??? YES YES YES - it’s so annoying. I usually get maybe 1 fail per box. Last box at least 10 failed. When I put in my next order I complained - so with my next delivery they sent me a free box. Hate to think that my GP surgery would have had to pay for the shortfall. Hugs Min xx
